The Daily Verse does not collect, transmit, or sell your personal data. The app has no backend, no user accounts, and no analytics or advertising SDKs. Everything it stores stays on your device.
This information is written to your device's local storage and to a shared container used by the app's Screen Time extensions. It is never uploaded anywhere. Deleting the app removes all of it.
The Daily Verse uses Apple's Screen Time (Family Controls) framework with your explicit permission, so that the apps you choose can be shielded until you've finished the day's reading.
Apple's framework is designed so that the app never learns which apps you picked. Your selection is handed to us only as opaque tokens that cannot be read or reversed, and it is not readable by us or by anyone else. The app does not see your usage, your activity, your messages, or the contents of any other app. That is also why the app's own wording says "your paused apps" rather than naming them — it genuinely cannot name them.
If you allow notifications, the app sends you a local notification when you tap "Read today's verse" on the pause screen. These are generated on your device. No push server is involved and no device token leaves your phone.
Daily Verse Premium is an auto-renewable subscription sold through Apple's In-App Purchase system. Payment, billing, and renewals are handled entirely by Apple — the app never sees or stores your payment details. The app asks Apple whether an active subscription exists and stores nothing beyond that answer. Apple's own privacy policy governs the transaction; you can manage or cancel a subscription at any time in your Apple account settings.
All verse text is bundled inside the app, so readings work with no network connection. The app does not request verses from any server, which means no record of what you read is created anywhere but your own device.
The Daily Verse is a self-control tool for the person using the device. It uses individual Screen Time authorization, not parental controls, and does not knowingly collect information from anyone.
